A few years ago, probably quite a few, when adult colouring books were suddenly popular and mindfulness was the thing to do, I was creating a few illustrations for colouring myself. I'd sell them alongside my prints and pug dishes at markets and online, and eventually was approached by someone in the US to put together a bunch for a book they were making.
TLDR it didn't end up happening for some reason (I can't recall exactly why, I think it was something to do with them not getting enough funding or something), but I did spend quite a bit of time coming up with the illustrations for the theme they wanted. To be honest I didn't love the theme - was around the sea - not something I have a huge affinity with, so kind of pleased it didn't go ahead. The royalties weren't huge either so don't think I would have earned much back from the time I put into it.
Anyway. The whole concept of adult colouring seemed to die off after a while but I've noticed it slowly coming back. For me, I like to colour something when I can't think of anything to draw, or just need to make some marks on paper.
